The Drug Defense and Advocacy Clinic was created to address the problem of inadequate legal representation for minorities who are incarcerated for drug-related offenses.

The clinic incorporates a class component that includes lectures based on historical overview of drug-related precedents, statistical compilation and analysis of minority arrests and incarceration, and finally the status of the law on drug arrests and convictions including proposing changes in the law.

Further, the clinic will provide hands-on experience for students to work with those facing convictions for drug related offenses.
