The
Earl Carl Institute for Legal and Social Policy, Inc. was established
as a research and writing think tank at the
Thurgood
Marshall School of Law on the campus of
Texas Southern University. Since its inception, the Institute
has published various articles that focus on its urban mission.
Governance The Institute
is governed by a diverse multi-disciplinary
board of directors from the
university and law school as well as from the community at
large. The Institute is also aided in
reaching its goals through working with a
Board of Advisors that is
comprised of community leaders who support its urban
mission. A board of
law advisors made up of distinguished legal
professionals assists the Institute in providing high
quality legal service and advice to its clients through its
various legal service programs. The
Institute also boasts eight task
forces made up of highly motivated volunteers that
work with the Institute on a regular basis. These Task
Forces meet to help formulate priority projects of the
Institute in a variety of urban issue areas.
